When you are faced with unexpected truth and knowledge (which you would rather deny and not know), how do you deal with it? Has everything changed or has nothing changed at all?

Sometimes they say ignorance is bliss. I wish I had that luxury now.

An email from a client:

"I would like to thank both Ah Lian and you for making the efforts and doing a great job for the presentation of concepts to both the landlords of The Gardens and The Sunway Pyramid. I think our relationship is working towards the right direction and I appreciate it."

I love my job.

American Idol is back! I have a life again!

Random mumblings:

On the way back from Jusco after doing some CNY shopping.
me: Whoa! Imagine, you're almost 40!
my brother: What? My age or my waist?

In the car, talking about my motorbike riding skills.
the bf: Last time you ride bike like this, hahahah!
(straightens arms and body rigidly)
me: Where got?? Who said???!! You go and belief those blokes ar!
the bf: Hahahah! I can just imagine...everybody siam when they see you...KY, K**** tengah makan, B****** kaki cramp, all will run like hell when they see you....it's like, if they see you and cow dung in their path, they'd rather kena cow dung than to get hurt....hahahah!
me: @$#($(%&(&%#(@!!!!

On designing a bedroom for a 90 year old man.
the lady: This is actually a guest room but for now, it is going to be used by the client's 90 year old father who is in a wheelchair
me: So we should have some allowance for the wheelchair to have a comfortable turning radius at the wardrobe area right? But that would affect the symmetry of the overall layout and design....
the lady: Oh the client said to prioritise the design....he said his dad would only be using it temporarily..
me: Wow they have another house?
the lady: Errr...he didn't mean it that way.....when he said temporary, he meant....
me: OH!

Dad and his first gift of bak kua this year from the bf.
dad: When I go to Sabah, I'm gonna lock this in my room. THIS IS PRECIOUS COMMODITY!

At the pizza place with friends.
WL: WAH!! Look at the wind! So strong!
B******: I can't see wind. Can only feel.
WL & me: -_-

On msn with an ex-colleague.
me: I can't believe I'm in my mid 20s!!
ex-colleague: I can't believe I'm already mid life!!

I have a new obsession. Bubble Breaker! (a.k.a Jawbreaker). The bf is trying his very best to break my current record of 1386 (*haulian face). Nyehehe.

Chinese New Year is coming! Yay! The only thing missing now is a new handbag.

Chinese New Year is coming. The only thing missing for some people is a home.

Johor was hit by the worst flood in 100 years. It's like God is washing away all the sins of the state. They have the highest crime rate in the country. They have weird and sick cases of rape and murder. They have the worst drivers (Penang comes second, trust me. They are just stupid. JB drivers are stupid AND inconsiderate AND stupid AND ah bengs AND stupid, oh I said that already?). They make KL drivers look like saints.

Andriy Shevshenko is so hot!

I am so happy because:

1- I finally got my notebook. A kick ass gigantic piece of electronic device so heavy (okay, it's a 17", I need it to be big, and it also comes with the number pad, as I use that a lot) that the bf doesn't even classify it as a notebook. LOL! And I kinda got more than I bargained for. They upgraded my hard disk (I somehow find it difficult to type that word without thinking of something else that's obscene) from 120G to 160G, upgraded my processor from a Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.66) to a T5600 (1.83) and to top it off, they even upgraded my graphic card from a 128 to a 216! All because the model I wanted has been replaced by a newer one (but at the same price la of course, if not I wouldn't be so happy right?). Oh, and I managed to squeeze a 1G Kingston thumbdrive and an optical mouse from the boss. Heehee! Kegembiraan yang tak terhingga!

Me: YAY! I can now go surf at Starbucks!
The BF: Errr, you think the table can hold your machine?

2- I managed to get return tickets to Tawau for only RM130. Thanks to AirAsia's 1 million free air tickets promotion that's going on now.

3- I can finally see some kind of improvement with my 3Ds. Maybe it's the notebook (rendering time is shorter and I can finally try out more canggih-manggih lighting and rendering effects without crippling the computer), or maybe it's just psychological, or maybe I got lucky this time. Whatever!

4- I finally got my payment (although partial) for a job that I have been doing since May 2006!

It is almost 2am, I am so tired, have to get a presentation out by tomorrow night, yet I am so happy!

Happy, happy, happy!

Oh damn I suddenly remembered that I have to go get my car alarm fixed.

Just got up from an afternoon nap (one of the perks of working on your own, bwahaha!). But unfortunately, the rest of the world is fully awake at that time, and they all decided to sms me within that one hour.

"Wanna do more kiosk proposals?"
"Can c transactn history wat."
"Mo pi ikealah. My fav plate dah pecah. Mo pi tak?"
"Will email tomorrow. Suppose to go bp sometime after 10 jan. You wanna go?"

I guess the last sms kinda got ingrained in my brain as I tried to continue my afternoon snooze, cos a few seconds later I found myself dreaming that I was on site in bp (batu pahat) and was busy taking site pics. Everything went well until I started taking pics of the ceiling. Apparently the architect decided to retain some part of the original structure, which was an indian temple previously. So you kinda get bits of those indian deities stucked at the ceiling. Okay, not that I am afraid of indian temples but it is kinda freaky la in my dream.
And anyway, who the heck would wanna retain an old indian temple structure to build a condominium?
Then after taking pics, my mom and grandma appeared from nowhere and started feeding me with all kinds of nyonya kuih.
And then I woke up.

I guess this freaky bit about buildings being reused is due to another bit of info tucked somewhere in my brain (I should discard useless info like these man, taking up space). Anyway, there is this hotel in Malacca, which I shall not name, that was previously a hospital. Now, how sick is that right?! I wonder what became of the morgue. I hope it has not been turned into some kind of presidential suite or something.

Shit I'm getting goosebumps.

Okay, images of Jack Nicholson in The Shinning is now playing before me.

STOP IT!

Blood gushing from the elevator.

ARGH STOP IT!!

Omg, I so totally love this song right now. Show Me Heaven by Maria McKee. Go check it out.

While the rest of the world is busy jollying, preparing for New Year's Eve, here I am, blogging away while I'm waiting for yet another piece of 3D to render.

Looking back at my 2006 New Year's Resolutions:

1-Achieve my financial target (i.e getting filthy rich-yea rite!)
I may be slightly less broke now, but I'm waaay off mark from being filthy rich.
Points awarded to self: 0.2/1

2-Reduce people bashing
Cannot lah. Not when you are exposed to JB drivers and TV shows like MMB and Cornetto Love Perhaps.
Points awarded to self: 0/1

3-Reduce the amount of items that I can possibly destroy.
A slight reduction, I think. Other than the toilet flush handle (which was kinda flimsy anyway), and someone's car, I think I have been pretty careful this year (or at least that's what I would like to think, I don't care!)
Points awarded to self: 0.9/1

4-Be a 3D Artist God.
Okay, I may not have reached God-like levels yet (dammit, I should set my expectations lower), but I finally managed to render an almost realistic looking 3D this morning. Yeap, on the last day of the year!
Points awarded to self: 0.6/1 (Must be modest a bit la, notchet reached God-like level)

5-Do something about my wardrobe so that clients wont see me as a kid/aunty.
Sigh. I did do something to my wardrobe, but not enough. If I were to do a whole revamp, I would not have even scored 0.2 for resolution #1.
Points awarded to self: 0.01/1

6-Learn mandarin. Good enough for me to be able to carry a decent conversation with a hawker seller without having them ask whether i'm chinese.
I can now sing TWO mandarin songs as compared to last year's ONE song. And hawkers have stopped asking me about my race.
Points awarded to self: 0.5/1

TOTAL SCORE: 2.21/6
That's like 36.8%.
Damn, if I were to base my score with the normal grading in schools, I would have gotten an F.

Eeyer.

My dear 17 inch crt monitor,

Please wake up. I really need you. Please, please don't die yet. I know you are old and your time is almost up, but PLEASE don't give up just yet. I need you for just one more day (okay, i ALWAYS say that) but i always meant it with all my heart!

Mr cpu would be very sad and dissapointed if you left us all, just like that. He is there, all started up, ready to go, waiting for you. He fought a battle and almost had to go for good (choi!), if you can remember clearly, but he bravely overcame it.

Please do not be upset by Mr old vaio laptop (may he rest in peace). He was already ancient when he came to us, and I guess the Malaysian weather was just not agreeable with him (after being in Japan for so long). Besides, his chain-smoking, coffee-drinking companion just abandoned him like that!

If there is a computer God out there, PLEASE let my monitor live!

From your very sad and depressed companion,
AO
